DANGOTE SWITCHES BACK TO NAIRA, RAISES EX-DEPOT PRICE TO N1,215*
Dangote Refinery is back to selling fuel in Naira.
After suspending truck loading for a week and briefly selling in dollars, the refinery has resumed operations with a new price template.
The ex-depot price has now been increased from N1,075` to N1,215` per litre. That’s an increase of N140` per litre, or 13.02%.
According to a notice sent to marketers, all pending truck volumes that have not been loaded will now be repriced at the new rate effective immediately.
Coastal loading prices also went up. It increased from $1,044.62` to $1,161.23` per metric tonne. That’s an 11.2% jump.
Analysts say returning to Naira sales should help ease supply issues. But the new higher price means marketers may also increase pump prices at filling stations in the coming days.
