After suspending truck loading for a week and briefly selling in dollars, the refinery has resumed operations with a new price template. The ex-depot price has now been increased from N1,075` to N1,215` per litre. That’s an increase of N140` per litre, or 13.02%. According to a notice sent to marketers, all pending truck volumes that have not been loaded will now be repriced at the new rate effective immediately. Coastal loading prices also went up. It increased from $1,044.62` to $1,161.23` per metric tonne. That’s an 11.2% jump. Analysts say returning to Naira sales should help ease supply issues. According to Tracka, an initiative of the BudgIT Foundation, N22.15 billion was earmarked for 106 palace projects, while N8 billion was allocated for 59 religious-related projects, sparking concerns over spending priorities amid the country's budget deficit and rising debt. The resolution followed the adoption of a motion sponsored by Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa, who called for a comprehensive audit of assets held by anti-corruption agencies, security agencies, ministries, departments and agencies, regulatory bodies and the courts. Osonwa said the 1999 Constitution empowers the National Assembly to investigate the management of public assets, while the Proceeds of Crime Recovery and Management Act, 2022 provides the legal framework for tracing, recovering, managing and disposing of proceeds of crime.
