Katsina ADC Chieftain Explains Visit By Three Governors

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Katsina State, Dr. Mustapha Inuwa, has clarified the reason behind the visit of Governors Uba Sani of Kaduna, Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina, and Dauda Lawal of Zamfara to his residence. Speaking in an interview with JBC Hausa, Inuwa dismissed political speculation, saying the governors came on behalf of Vice President Kashim Shettima to formally seek the hand of one of his daughters in marriage for a relative of the Vice President. He stressed that the visit was purely a family matter and not connected to politics.
According to Inuwa, the marriage proposal was accepted, and at the request of those involved, the wedding was conducted on the same day. He said both the bride and groom have now been joined in marriage, describing the event as a successful family celebration. Inuwa added that the governors and the Vice President had known him for some time, insisting that the visit should not be interpreted as a political meeting despite the growing public interest surrounding it.
The clarification comes amid heightened political attention on Dr. Inuwa following the crisis within the ADC over the endorsement of consensus candidates. In recent weeks, the Katsina State Deputy Governor reportedly visited his residence, while stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have also been making efforts to court him. Despite his explanation, political analysts believe the visit by the three APC governors could still carry wider political significance, with many saying the full implications of the meeting may become clearer in the days ahead.
