Shettima departs Abuja for 69th ECOWAS summit in sierra Leone

Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 69th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government in Freetown, Sierra Leone. The summit, holding today at the Julius Maada Bio International Conference Centre, will bring together political and business leaders from across West Africa to deliberate on key regional issues.


According to a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Office of the Vice President, Stanley Nkwocha, the meeting forms part of the ECOWAS mid-year statutory sessions. Discussions are expected to centre on regional security, democratic governance, economic integration, trade, infrastructure, sustainable development, and other shared priorities.


The summit is also expected to produce key policy decisions and strategic resolutions aimed at strengthening peace, democracy, economic growth, and regional cooperation across West Africa. Vice President Shettima is expected to return to Abuja after concluding his engagement in Sierra Leone

The clash occurred around the Rafin Makuku axis of Sakaba Local Government Area of Kebbi State on Monday.
