*BBNAIJA SEASON 11: AIKOU AND FLORA SECURE FINAL SPOTS BUT ARE INELIGIBLE FOR N160 MILLION GRAND PRIZE*


Two housemates in the ongoing Big Brother Naija reality show, Amyr Yousufzai known as Aikou, and Flora Egbeda, have secured their spot in the grand finale. This season tagged “Show Ya Sef” premiered on July 26, 2026, with 24 housemates competing for a record prize money of N160 million, the biggest cash reward ever offered in BBNaija history. On Monday, Big Brother introduced a new twist for its 11th season called "The Gambit". For the first time in the history of the show, one male and one female housemate were guaranteed a place in the finale from the beginning of the season.


However, that advantage comes with a major sacrifice. Once chosen, Gambit housemates are no longer eligible to win the N160 million grand prize. Aikou and Flora were selected through a public vote where viewers chose one male and one female for the role. Head of House Chimsom Chuka was exempt from the voting process. Although they have secured places in the final, both housemates will continue living in the house with other contestants. They will participate in weekly tasks, arena games, and sponsored challenges, and will remain eligible for rewards attached to those tasks.


According to organisers, Gambit housemates will also be given special assignments every week, adding another layer to the competition. While details have not been revealed, the new role is expected to influence the direction of the game. The introduction of The Gambit marks one of the biggest format changes in BBNaija since it began in Nigeria. Rather than focusing only on weekly nominations and evictions, this season opens with a decision that forces contestants to weigh security against the ultimate reward.


The twist has already divided viewers. Some believe a guaranteed place in the finale is an opportunity too good to pass up because of fame and brand deals. Others argue that reaching the final means little without the chance to walk away with the N160 million prize.
