How Female Student Died On Lagos Campus – Law School

The Nigerian Law School has confirmed the death of a 23-year-old student, Faith Alayande, who fell from the rooftop of its Lagos Campus hostel while on an externship programme. The institution said the incident occurred at about 4 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026. Alayande, a student of the Enugu Campus, was temporarily staying at the Lagos hostel for the duration of her externship.


The Law School said preliminary information indicated that the student fell from the hostel rooftop and died from the incident. The Lagos State Police Command also confirmed the case, saying the hostel matron reported finding the student unresponsive. Police operatives visited the scene and evacuated her body to a morgue, while investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding her death.


The institution said a hostel mate and a relative had reportedly found a note believed to have been written by Alayande and began searching for her before she was found unresponsive. The Nigerian Law School expressed sadness over the incident and extended condolences to her family, colleagues and others affected by the loss. It also appealed to the public and media to respect the family’s privacy as investigations continue.
