Osun Election: Akpabio Phoned Me To Delete Tweet I Made Against Him – Davido

Afrobeats star Davido has claimed that Senate President Godswill Akpabio called him during the Osun governorship election and asked him to delete a social media post in which he accused Akpabio of interfering with the election result collation.

Davido, who strongly supported his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, said he became concerned when the uploading of election results reportedly stopped for several hours while Adeleke was leading by a wide margin. He said he refused to delete his post until INEC officially announced the final result.

INEC eventually declared Adeleke the winner with 511,067 votes, defeating APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who scored 444,815 votes, giving Adeleke a winning margin of 66,252 votes.

Davido described the victory as proof that voters can still determine election outcomes despite political influence and money. He also said Adeleke’s victory showed that politicians who serve the people can earn their support.

During the campaign, Davido publicly clashed with several APC figures, including Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo.

In short: The story focuses on Davido’s claim that there were attempts to influence the Osun election process and pressure him to remove his criticism, while he maintained that he would not delete the post until INEC announced the official results.
