Phantom’ Council: ICPC Chair Submits Interim Report To Tinubu

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has submitted an interim report to President Bola Tinubu on its investigation into the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).

 ICPC Chairman Musa Adamu Aliyu disclosed that the commission found Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew was never appointed by the Presidency or any government authority.


The investigation followed President Tinubu's directive on July 7, ordering the ICPC to probe the alleged council and submit its findings within 30 days after concerns emerged over the existence of the body.

 The commission's findings revealed that the PFIPC had no legal backing and was never created through any law, executive order, or official government instrument.


According to the ICPC, the appointment letter presented by Adeyemi Matthew was forged, along with other documents allegedly used to operate the fake agency. 

The commission said its investigation established that the council was a phantom organisation and reaffirmed that no such body exists under the Federal Government.
