Tinubu: No leader has impacted Nigeria like Babangida

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated former military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (rtd), on his 85th birthday, describing him as a leader who has impacted Nigeria in ways no other leader has.


In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu said Babangida’s eight-year rule left lasting marks on Nigeria’s political, economic and geographical landscape.


He credited the former leader with expanding the economy, developing infrastructure and establishing institutions that continue to serve the country.


President Tinubu said Babangida’s legacy would remain significant in Nigeria’s history, noting that he continues to offer valuable counsel to the nation even in retirement. He wished the former military leader good health, renewed strength and many more years of service and guidance to the country.

The clash occurred around the Rafin Makuku axis of Sakaba Local Government Area of Kebbi State on Monday.
