The Department of State Services, DSS, has arraigned two men before a Kano Magistrate’s Court for allegedly demolishing part of a bridge and stealing construction materials in Danjirima, Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State.

The suspects, Danlami Sulaiman, also known as Layayu, and Abdullahi Ibrahim, aka Maraki, were charged with conspiracy, theft, trespass and unlawful entry.

The prosecution alleged that they vandalised the bridge on July 22, removed rods and other materials, and encroached on nearby plots of land. Both suspects pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Following their pleas, Magistrate Abba Maiwada Abubakar ordered that the suspects be remanded in custody. The court adjourned the case until September 8, 2026, for continuation of the hearing.
