Atiku: 2027 choice is between economy that takes from you or one that gives to you

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies, saying they have increased the cost of living and reduced Nigerians’ purchasing power.
Atiku blamed the removal of the fuel subsidy, naira depreciation, and rising prices of fuel, food, transport, fertiliser and cement for the hardship facing citizens and businesses.
He defended his proposed Production Subsidy, arguing that supporting local production and domestic oil refining would increase supply, create jobs and reduce prices.
Atiku said Nigerians are more concerned about what they pay for everyday necessities than government economic statistics. He argued that the 2027 election will give Nigerians a choice between an economy that “takes more from the people” and one that puts money back into their pockets.
He concluded by promising that his approach would focus on increasing production, refining oil locally, creating jobs and reducing the cost of living.
